Die zierlichen Blüten dieser Kletterpflanze haben Schattierungen von Rot, Pink, Violett und Blau mit einem gesprenkelten cremefarbenen Rand. Diese attraktive Einjährige ist schnellwachsend, blüht im Sommer und rankt um Spaliere oder kriecht über Topfränder. Die hellgrünen Blätter sind ein perfekter Hintergrund für die zierlichen Blüten. Gut geeignet für Töpfe und Hanging Baskets. Die Pflanzen blühen ab Anfang Sommer bis in den späten Winter, wenn sie vor Frost geschützt werden. Die Ranken können 250cm lang werden.

Sow from early February to mid April in a good seed compost just covering the seed with a very thin layer of compost or vermiculite. Germination takes 14-21 days at 18-20C (65-70F). Don't exclude light, sealing in a polythene bag after sowing is helpful.

When large enough to handle, transplant the seedlings into 7.5cm (3in) pots, and grow on in cooler conditions, potting on as necessary. For outdoor planting, gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions and plant out in late spring after all risk of frost has passed 30cm (12in) apart in a sun or shade in a, sheltered spot and ordinary, cool moist yet well drained soil. On acid soils, a dusting of lime is helpful before planting. Provide a trellis, strings etc., for them to climb. They can be grown in a greenhouse/conservatory and will need a final pot size of 18-20cm (7-8in) and a minimum winter temperature of 5-7C (41-45F).
