Sowing Instructions
Sow in spring 1.5mm (1/16in) deep in a good seed compost. Germination takes 5-10 days at 18-20C (65-70F). They can also be sown outdoors in the spring where they are to flower, when the ground becomes workable, covering the seed to a depth of 3mm (1/8in). Thin out the seedlings 39cm (12in) apart. Alternatively, sow out of doors in the autumn for over-wintering, when they will flower in late spring/early summer.
Growing Instructions
When large enough to handle transplant the seedlings to boxes or 7.5cm (3in) pots and grow on in cooler conditions. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions and plant out in late spring after all risk of frost has passed 30cm (12in) apart in full sun and well drained soil. |
