Description
Bush (Determinate). Elongated, green, sausage - like fruits with conspicuous yellow stripes and delicious green flesh. Bushy plants bearing 4in. long fruits of 1½in. diameter, with an average of 6-7 fruits per truss. Best grown under glass for early crops; grows outdoors in warm summers.
Sowing Instructions
Sowing Time: February to April. Sow in pots of moist seed compost and cover with a 1cm (1/2in) layer of compost or vermiculite. Place in a propagator or warm place, and keep at a constant temperature of between 18-20C (64-68F). After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged; germination will usually take 7-10 days.
Growing Instructions
Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into 7.5cm (3in) pots. Plant in final situation when 20cm (8in) tall, 45cm (18in) apart. Needs no staking or side shooting. For indoor crops, plant finally into growbags or pots in the greenhouse. For outdoor crops, acclimatise plants to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting in a sunny, fertile, moist well drained soil.
Aftercare Instructions
Feed plants regularly with a high potash tomato feed once the first flowers have set. |
