Description
Approximate root length: 25-30cms (10-12 inches). One of the best maincrop varieties for the gardener. Produces a heavy yield of excellent quality, large cylindrical roots in moist soils. good core colour and flavour, resists greening and cracking and stores very well.
Sowing Instructions
Sow late April to June, thinly, 1cm (½in) deep in drills 30cm (12in) apart. Grow Spring Onion White Lisbon next to carrots as the smell helps deter Carrot Fly.
Growing Instructions
Thin seedlings carefully when large enough to handle to reduce risk of carrot root fly attacks, and cover later sowings with netting or fleece. Keep well watered for best quality roots.
Aftercare Instructions
Lift and store unblemished roots in late Autumn, or straw, clamp or protect overwintered roots left in the soil. |
