Extra large, highly decorative leaves of deepest red with a medium mustard flavour. Sow from spring onwards to use as 'cut and come again' or in summer/autumn to overwinter. Great for salads and stir-fries.
Sow outdoors in drills 30-45cm (12-18in) apart, in soil which has been raked to a fine tilth. Sowing Depth: 2cm (¾in). Sowing Time: April onwards. After sowing, keep well watered until seedlings appear.
Harvest young leaves as required, picking a few only from each plant. Sowings made in late summer will carry on cropping into winter if given protection by cloches.
