Description
Papaver nudicale "Meadow Pastels" A wonderful, wide ranging mixture of up to ten different colours in shades of yellow, orange, pink, rose, white, cream and some stunning bicolours. Plants produce an abundance of large flowers on strong, sturdy stems, making this a worthy garden plant and cut flower. Flowers summer. Height: 60-70cm (24-28in.)
Sowing Instructions
Sow outdoors from April to June in a well prepared seed bed. Sow the seeds very thinly 6mm (¼in) deep in drills 25cm (10in) apart, keep the soil damp until germination takes place and thin out the seedlings if crowded when large enough to handle. They can also be sown indoors from January to April, early sowings will often flower the same season. Germination takes 10-30 days at 13C (55F).
Growing Instructions
Transplant 30-45cm (12-18in) apart into flowering site in the autumn for flowering the following year.
Aftercare Instructions
They prefer full sun and welt drained soil, but will grow well in most soils. Prick out into pots as they resent any root disturbance. |
