A very popular, easy to grow and reliable variety producing an abundance of dark green leaves. Long standing if grown in good, moist soil which is kept watered during dry weather. Ideal for successional sowing to give a longer cropping period. Broad, deep green leaves; ideal for freezing.

Sow March to July outdoors. Sow seed thinly, 1cm (½in) deep in broad drills, 30cm (12in) apart. Can be sown under cloches or frames in September.
Keep plants well watered during hot, dry weather.
