Description
This delightful dwarf, pure white form, looks spectacular grown in containers and unlike many Agapanthus it will often flower within one year from sowing. Not fully hardy, so best given winter frost protection. Height: 45cm (18in).
Sowing Instructions
Sowing time: April to May. Sow seeds in pots or trays of moist seed compost and cover with a very fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Place container in a propagator or seal inside a polythene bag and keep at a temperature of between 18-20C (65-70F). After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged; germination can take 1-4 months. When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into 7.5cm (3in) pots or trays. These should be overwintered for the first season at a temperature of 5C (40F).
Growing Instructions
Plant out once plants are well grown, 30cm (12in) apart in a sheltered sunny site.
Aftercare Instructions
Prefers a rich, light, well-drained soil. Can also be grown in containers in the conservatory or on the patio. |
