Description
New 2008 A taller semperflorens type that looks impressive in borders or containers. Attractive clusters of pink and white bicoloured flowers are set against very large dark green foliage. Specially bred to produce vigorous germinating seedlings followed by robust plants with outstanding garden performance. Height: 35-40cm (14-16in).
Sowing Instructions
Sow mid January to mid March. Sow seed on the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays. Do not cover the seed. Place in a propagator or warm place, and keep at a temperature of around 24-27ºC (75-80ºF). After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged; germination will usually take 15-60 days. When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into 7.5cm (3in) pots or trays. CAUTION: Dust-like seeds. To open, hold over a sheet of white paper, cut along three sides of inner pack and carefully open out flat. Tap the packet gently to dislodge seed.
Growing Instructions
Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost, 15-20cm (6-8in) apart, or plant into containers.
Aftercare Instructions
For best results, provide a rich, light, well-drained soil in full sun or part shade. |
