Description
Sytan has shown a good tolerance to carrot fly during its many years of rigorous assessments. With an exceptional taste from early sowings, the finger-shaped, rich orange, coreless roots are ideal raw, boiled or steamed.
Sowing Instructions
Sow March to July, at 4 week intervals. Sow thinly, 1cm (½ inch) deep in drills 30cm (12 inches) apart.
Growing Instructions
Thin seedlings to 5cm ( 2inches) apart when large enough to handle, to reduce risk of carrot root fly attack.
Aftercare Instructions
Keep well watered for best quality roots.
Kitchen Notes
Make Algerian carrots by heating lightly steamed carrots with chili sauce, cumin and lemon juice. |
