Description
It has taken 10 years to breed these beautiful double flowers. Often, they are so double that the petals obscure the centre of the bell. Each bloom is large, wax-like in appearance and they literally smother the plant. Stunning in appearance, they are relatively compact and flower in an unusual, delightful cerise-pink, deep glossy-blue and fashionable light-rose. A worthy addition to any border.
Sowing Instructions
Sow in pots or trays of good seed compost. Place in a propagator or warm place, providing an optimum temperature of about 22C (77F). Do not cover seed, sow on the surface of the soil. Sow February to July. After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged, germination will usually take 1-3 months.
Growing Instructions
When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into 7.5cm (3in) pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting out after all risk of frost. Provide a rich, well-drained soil in full sun, spacing plants by 45-60cm (18-24in). |
