Description
A choreographed medley of dazzling frilly blooms. Layers of ruffled and wavy petals add a new dimension to the ever popular pansy. A fun and frivolous variety that merits centre stage in your garden. Radiant in borders, containers and flower pouches. Height: 15-23cm (6-9in).
Sowing Instructions
Sow December to March for summer flowering July to September for winter flowering. Sow seed in pots or trays of moist seed compost and cover with a very fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. After sowing, seal container inside a polythene bag and keep at 15-20C (60-68F). Place container in darkness. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged; germination will usually take 10-15 days, although check regularly and remove from darkness as soon as seedlings begin to appear. Also take care not to provide too high a temperature during germination, as this can prevent emergence.
Growing Instructions
When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into 7.5cm (3in) pots or trays. When well grown, gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting out after all risk of frost, 23-30cm (9-12in) apart in a moist, well-drained soil in full sun or part shade.
Aftercare Instructions
Summer sowings should be moved to a coldframe and planted out in early spring. |
