Description
Compactness is out of favour with this variety. The habit is much more trailing than other alyssum making it an excellent variety tor hanging baskets, window boxes, cascading out of pots and containers and of course bedding, borders and rockeries where it spreads happily to form an excellent, lightly scented cerise carpet. Flowers summer. Height: 10-15cm (3-4in).
Sowing Instructions
Sow early spring to early summer outdoors where they are to flower. Prepare the ground well and rake to a fine tilth before sowing. Sow 1.5mm (1/16in) deep in rows 30cm (12in) apart. Germination usually takes approximately 21 days. For earlier flowers hanging baskets etc., they can be sown under glass, germination takes 7-14 days at 18C (65F), pricked out into boxes, grown on and planted out into baskets etc. and gradually hardened off before moving outdoors.
Growing Instructions
When large enough to handle thin out to 15cm (6in) apart.
Aftercare Instructions
They prefer a sunny open site but will grow in most sites and soils. |
