Will produce heavy yields of dark green, smooth, cylindrical 15cm (6in) fruits if picked regularly.
Ideal grown in a container on the patio.
Sow April-May. Sow seed 19mm (¾in) deep in 7.5cm (3in) pots of free-draining compost. Place in a propagator or seal container inside a polythene bag and place at 20-25C (68-77F) until after germination which takes 5-7 days.
Can also be sown direct outdoors during May once the soil has warmed, preferably under cloches.
Prefers well-drained, rich, moist soil in full sun.
Youngest fruits are delicious raw, just diced up in a mixed salad.
