Description
Bright and cheerful flowers all summer long with this new introduction. The breeding techniques required to fix a pattern in flowers can be most painstaking, but invariably it achieves a striking combination that makes a wonderful garden plant and in this case the finest of cut flowers too. Masses of huge 4in flowers in bright yellow with the darkest brown centre which gives a welcome extension of colour to the late summer border. Ideal for cutting, also beds and borders. Height 75-90cm (30-36in).
Sowing Instructions
Sow from late winter to early summer 1.5mm (1/16in) deep in a good seed compost. Make sure that the compost is moist but not wet and seal in a polythene bag until after germination which usually takes 5-21 days at 21C (70F).
Growing Instructions
Transplant when large enough to handle into 8cm (3in) pots and grow on in cooler conditions. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting out after all risk of frost, 45cm (18in) apart in a sunny spot in well drained soil.
Aftercare Instructions
Cut the flowers just after the buds start to open. |
