Description
Welsh Poppy. An exclusive and rare mix of silky pom-pom blooms in orange, red and yellow. The Welsh Poppy is a breezy perennial for dappled shade, blooming from mid-spring right through to autumn. Occasionally an odd single flower may also appear.
Sowing Instructions
Sow seeds immediately on receipt on the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays and cover with a very light sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Seal container inside a polythene bag and keep at a temperature of between 15-20C (59-68F), or place in a coldframe or sheltered position outdoors. After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged; germination can take 1 to 3 months and may be erratic.
Growing Instructions
When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into 7.5cm (3 inch) pots or trays. Plant out once plants are well grown, 30cm (12 inches) apart.
Aftercare Instructions
For best results, provide a humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil in partial shade. |
