Description
Slower growing and with a more serrated leaf than Cultivated Rocket but increasing in popularity to add to Cultivated Rocket as a mixed salad ingredient.
Sowing Instructions
Sow thinly outdoors, about 10mm deep, from March to September and thin plants to 5cm apart, or 10cm for larger plants.
Growing Instructions
Keep soil moist at all times for best flavoured leaves and to prevent plants from bolting (running to seed). Seed can also be sown in pots on the windowsill for all the year round harvesting of fresh leaves.
Aftercare Instructions
Harvest from 40 days after sowing during the summer months.
Kitchen Notes
Serving suggestion - Wild Rocket pesto. Chop washed rocket and garlic. Add olive oil, white wine vinegar. Ideal as a dressing for freshly cooked pasta or ravioli, topped with parmesan. |
