Red campion is a beautiful rosy-red wildflower of woodland edges and hedgebanks. The combination of this species and native bluebells in our woodland areas is a wonderful sight in May but long after the bluebells and other woodland plants have seeded, red campion continues to grace our shady areas with its presence - sometimes into winter. An easy perennial plant to grow in lightdappled shade, it is host to an array of woodland wildlife including lychnis, twinspot carpet and marbled clover moths.
