The wood alpine strawberry produces lots of tasty fruit and is often used for decorating pastries and cakes. Instructions: Sow inside from late winter to early spring at 21°C in a good, free-draining seed compost. Sow seed on the surface of the compost and do not block out the light. Seal in a polythene bag after sowing. Germination usually takes 14-30 days. When seedlings are large enough to handle, move outdoors for 10-15 days before transferring to soil after all risk of frost has passed. Seeds can also be sown direct in mid spring, in well-raked soil, placed 15cm apart. Sales of this product support the Natural History Museum.
