Annuals
Annuals are plants which are grown from seed and last one year - they live fast and die young. If they can survive freezing temperatures, they are called hardy. Biennials
Biennials are similar to annuals, except that their life-cycle takes place over two years rather than one. In other words, they flower the year after they are sown. Perennials
Perennials are plants that last for many years. In the vast majority of cases, these plants die back to ground level each winter, and re-emerge the following spring.
