Outpaces and out yields all other Savoys. It can produce a crop almost every season of the year, so you don't need to wait for winter to experience that delicious Savoy flavour.
Sow late winter to mid summer in a specially prepared seed bed or coldframe (for later winter) or for most reliable germination in seed boxes in heat 19-21C (65-70F). Sow very thinly 1cm (½in) deep in 15cm (6in) wide rows.
The soil should be well drained, with some humus, and firm, not recently dug.
Eaten raw or cooked, cabbages are an excellent source of Vitamin C. Try to use all healthy outer leaves, as the darkest green leaves contain the most nutrients.
