Bumper crops of straight, stringless, dark-green pencil pods, 12-14cm (5 to 5½ inches) long, of outstanding flavour. Heavy yields can be encouraged if picked regularly. This variety also has resistance against the problems of Common Bean Mosaic Virus and Anthracnose.
Sow early May to July outdoors 4-5cm (1½ to 2 inches) deep in well-prepared soil. Allow 15-20cm (6 to 8 inches) between plants and 45cm (18 inches) between rows. Germination and establishment can be poor in cold wet soils, in this case sow mid April in pots indoors, plant out from late May. Can be sown in March for protected growing in greenhouse.
Harvest July to October, or from June with protected growing. Height 45cm (18 inches).
Climbing and Dwarf beans are a good source of Vitamin A and K.
