Heavy cropping, producing many conical, shiny green fruits, turning brilliant red. Thick walled, sweet flavour, fleshy fruits can be up to 18cm (7in) long and 8cm (3in) in diameter. Suitable for indoors or outdoors growing in a warm position, plants also show some resistance to Tobacco Mosaic Virus. High yields of large fruits over a long season.
Sow early March to mid April 6mm (¼ inch) deep in seed trays or pots of good seed compost under glass or in a propagator at 20-25C (68-86F).
Plants do not usually need support but tie in with a cane if necessary. Feed with tomato fertiliser once first fruits setting. Keep compost moist but do not overwater. Ventilate and keep air moist during hot weather to minimise red spider mite attack. Prefers a deep, fertile, well-drained soil. Harvest July to October.
