New 2008
Blackmore &: Langdon have specialised in breeding tuberous begonias since 1901, and have won over 70 gold medals at the Chelsea Flower Show for their eye-catching displays. T&M are delighted to be able to offer this spectacular large flowered picotee mixture producing high quality blooms in a wide range of picotee shades perfect for growing in containers.
Being a seed raised mixture you may even find an unusual colour combination never seen before!
Height: 40-45cm (16-18in).
Sow mid January to mid March. Sow seed on the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays. Do not cover the seed. Place in a propagator or warm place, and keep at a temperature of around 24-27ºC (75-80ºF). After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged; germination will usually take 15-60 days. When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into 7.5cm (3in) pots or trays.
CAUTION: Dust-like seeds. To open, hold over a sheet of white paper, cut along three sides of inner pack and carefully open out flat. Tap the packet gently to dislodge seed.
For best results, provide a rich, light, well-drained soil in full sun or part shade.
