Description

Nonstop' Begonias are the world's best-known green leaf tuberous series, and now boast a superior chocolate leaf coloured companion. These distinctive plants freely produce high quality 10cm (4in) fully double flowers in a mixture of five vibrant colours providing a rich contrast to their delightful dark foliage. Spectacular planted in borders or containers.

Sowing Instructions

Sow mid January to mid March. Sow seed on the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays. Do not cover the seed. Place in a propagator or warm place, and keep at a temperature of around 24-27ºC (75-80ºF). After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged; germination will usually take 15-60 days. When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into 7.5cm (3in) pots or trays.

CAUTION: Dust-like seeds. To open, hold over a sheet of white paper, cut along three sides of inner pack and carefully open out flat. Tap the packet gently to dislodge seed.

Aftercare

For best results, provide a rich, light, well-drained soil in full sun or part shade.
