Slender, tapering, red skinned roots up to 28cm (11in) in length, have a sweet pinkish flesh that holds its colour when steamed. Ideal for brightening any dinner plate, or used raw as a colourful addition to a salad.
Sow April to June. Sow thinly, 1cm (½in) deep in drills 30cm (12in) apart.
Lift and store unblemished roots in late Autumn.
