Often seen sprinkling cornfields with its bright scarlet flowers. Ideal for creating a bright splash of colour in a sunny corner where little else will grow, or in the wild garden where it self seeds with ease. Flowers early summer. Height: 18-24 inches.
Thompson & Morgan will donate 10p to Royal British Legion (Registered charity no. 210063), for each packet of Poppy Flanders seeds sold, to provide work and support for disabled ex-Servicemen and women and their families.
Sow early spring to early summer or autumn outdoors where they are to flower. Prepare the ground well and rake to a fine tilth before sowing. Scatter the seed and rake in lightly.
They prefer a sunny open site but will grow in most sites and soils. For the longest flowering period and to prevent self seeding remove the seed pods as the petals fall.
