Description

A superb garden plant with similar uses to Aubrieta. Non-stop 'Mini Snapdragon' flowers in shades of mauve-blue which smother the plant to give it a cushion effect. Ideal to tumble over containers or the rockery, or for edging paths. Sow mid January to flower early summer onwards.

Sowing Instructions

Sow in trays, pots, etc of good seed compost in a propagator or warm place to maintain an optimum temperature of 55-60F (13-15C). Sow in well drained compost, just covering the seed with compost. Sowing Time: January to February. Germination can be slow, after sowing seal container in a polythene bag and leave at 65-70F (18-22C) for 2 weeks then place in a refrigerator (not freezer) for 4-6 weeks. Examine regularly whilst in fridge for signs of germination. If this occurs transplant the seedlings and return the container to the fridge. After 4-6 weeks move to 55-60F (13-15C). Germination usually occurs after 21-30 days.

Aftercare

They prefer a very well drained soil and full sun. Excellent for containers, rockeries, edging palms and ideal in pots in the alpine house or cold greenhouse.
