Long roots with rich orange core and a crunchy sweet taste. Chantenay hybrids are renowned for their taste, and this is one of the best. Maincrop maturity that bulks up well to give good weight roots that store really well for autumn and winter use.
Sowing Time: March to July. Sow thinly, 1cm (1/2in) deep in drills 23-30cm (9-12in) apart in well-drained, fertile soil, which has been raked to a fine tilth. Keep moist until germination.
Water soil well before harvesting to aid extraction. The roots can be lifted and stored in layers of peat or sand in a frost-free place for winter use.
