Significantly different in supersweets, unique yellow, white, red and purple kernels which develop a stronger colour as each cob matures. Exceptionally sweet, tender 20cm (8in) cobs full of flavour, add a touch of colour to your dishes. To maintain colour isolate from other sweetcorns.
Sowing Time: April to May. Sow in pots of moist seed compost and cover with a 1cm ((1/2in) layer of compost. Place in a propagator or warm place, and keep at a constant temperature of between 20-25C (68-77F). After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged; germination will usually take 6-10 days.
A typical sweetcorn cob contains less than 100 calories. Cobs are gluten-free and are a good source of fibre and Vitamin B.
