(Autumn/Winter). Ideal to grow a quality giant cabbage, producing heads up to 6.5kg (14lbs). Delicious eaten raw, with a high sugar and Vitamin C content, but also excellent when cooked, Stands well in good condition, with Fusarium resistance.
Sow seeds into individual pots or a seed tray of a proprietary compost and cover with 6mm (¼ in) of compost or vermiculite, at a minimum of 15C (60F), until germination which takes around 7 days. Alternatively, can be sown thinly in a prepared seedbed 13mm (½in) deep, allowing 30cm (12in) between rows.
Cut later heads and store over winter.
Eaten raw or cooked, cabbages are an excellent source of Vitamin C. Try to use all healthy outer leaves, as the darkest green leaves contain the most nutrients.
