Sow in trays, pots, etc of good seed compost in a propagator or warm place to maintain an optimum temperature of 60-65F (15-18C)

Sowing Depth: Surface sow on a peat/sand mix seed compost and do not exclude light.

Sowing Time: February- July

Additional Comments: Very slow and irregular germination. Keep the seed compost cool and moist but not saturated at all times.

Aftercare Instructions: Transplant seedlings into 7.5cm (3in) pots when large enough to handle, taking care NOT to damage the roots. Grow on in same temperature for 3-4 months until well rooted in their pots, then move to a cold frame for overwintering. Plant out the following spring. Space the plants 1.2-2m (4-6ft) apart. Prefers a rich, light, well drained soil in a sheltered sunny site.
