Récolte:
Harvest when central hearts are firm, about 10-12 weeks from sowing.
Désignation
A superb quality, pale green butterhead of excellent flavour, with well-filled voluminous hearts. Resistant to most races of downy mildew and Lettuce Mosaic Virus. Ideal for growing all year round, especially summer and autumn outdoors.
Semis
Sowing Time: April to July, at 2 week intervals. Sow thinly, 13mm (1/2in) deep in drills 30cm (12in) apart in well-drained, fertile soil, which has been raked to a fine tilth. Water ground regularly, especially in dry periods.
Culture
Thin out seedlings at an early stage, to 23-30cm (9-12in) apart. Keep cool and moist to prevent running to seed. |
