This heirloom lettuce is unusually spotted with a tasty flavour. An interesting Latin, semi-cos variety that holds well in warm weather and is slow to bolt. Attractive in the kitchen garden or the flower border.

Sow April to July outdoors, thinly, 6mm (¼in) deep in ground which has been raked to a fine tilth. Space rows by 15cm (6in).

Thin out seedlings when large enough to handle, to 30cm (12in) apart. Keep cool and moist to prevent running to seed.

Prefers well drained, moist, rich, cool conditions. Harvest June to early October.
