Récolte:
Once cobs begin to form, water regularly. Cobs are ripe when the liquid is thin and creamy.
Désignation
Significantly different in supersweets, unique yellow, white, red and purple kernels which develop a stronger colour as each cob matures. Exceptionally sweet, tender 20cm (8in) cobs full of flavour, add a touch of colour to your dishes. To maintain colour isolate from other sweetcorns.
Semis
Sowing Time: April to May. Sow in pots of moist seed compost and cover with a 1cm ((1/2in) layer of compost. Place in a propagator or warm place, and keep at a constant temperature of between 20-25C (68-77F). After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged; germination will usually take 6-10 days.
Culture
After all risk of frost, plant in blocks, spacing individual plants 45cm (18in) apart. Provide a sunny sheltered spot on rich, well drained soil, raked to a fine tilth. |
